Muyoboke Alexis Launches Voxa TV and Studio for Rwanda’s Rising Stars

Rwandan music mentor and industry veteran Muyoboke Alexis has officially launched an online television channel, Voxa TV, along with a supporting studio aimed at helping especially emerging artists showcase their talent.

Having worked closely with numerous artists over the years, Muyoboke drew inspiration for this initiative from his long journey in Rwanda’s music industry since 1994.

He noticed that while the cultural sector has grown significantly, there remains a gap in effectively amplifying artists’ voices to wider audiences.

“Voxa” derives from the Greek word for “voice,” reflecting the channel’s mission: to be the voice of artists across all creative sectors.

“We’ve seen a lot on this journey, contributing in various ways, but we realized there was room for something more—another platform to make an artist’s voice reach farther and touch more people,” Muyoboke explained.

Voxa TV will focus on shows and interviews that promote arts and culture, covering music, cinema, poetry, and other creative industries. Muyoboke emphasized that a key goal is providing space for young, talented artists who currently lack platforms to express themselves.

Two of the first programs on Voxa TV are “While Alive” and “Deep Talk.”

While Alive will celebrate and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation and creative industries, ensuring they are recognized during their lifetime. Muyoboke shared that the concept was inspired by heartfelt words spoken about his late father, motivating him to honor people while they are still alive.

Deep Talk will serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on Rwanda’s cultural sector, featuring artists, producers, managers, and other key stakeholders.

In addition to the channel, Muyoboke has launched a Live Recording Studio, which will provide emerging artists with access to quality production facilities to create, showcase, and refine their work.

“We want to support new talent by giving them space to create and present their skills, because many have the potential but lack opportunities,” he said.

Voxa TV will also manage events, giving artists opportunities to connect with audiences and grow their careers practically. The channel aims to provide information, discussions, and historical context on music and arts in Rwanda, tracing their evolution to the present day.

Muyoboke emphasized that the idea came from his followers’ encouragement, particularly from social media and media outlets, who recognized his potential to contribute further to Rwanda’s creative sector.

“As I considered this for some time, the feedback and ideas from the public made me realize the right step was to create Voxa TV,” he said.

With Rwanda’s cultural industries continuing to expand, Voxa TV promises to be a significant platform for artists, helping preserve and promote Rwandan arts in a modern, accessible way.
