Rappers Bushali and Riderman performed in Nyamirambo during the official launch of the “Iremere na EjoHeza” program in partnership with MTN. During the event, several individuals — including RBA journalist Turatsinze Bright — were recognized and awarded for their outstanding commitment to saving with Ejo Heza through the MoMo platform.

EjoHeza, a transformative long-term savings plan by the Government of Rwanda, empowers individuals to secure their financial future. This program ensures equal access to savings opportunities for Rwandan citizens and residents, promoting financial security and a brighter tomorrow.

Launched on June 29, 2017, by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, EjoHeza began active implementation in 2019. It is a voluntary, inclusive savings program allowing participants to open dedicated accounts for secure, long-term deposits. Both Rwandan citizens and foreign residents can participate, making it a dynamic initiative for everyone.

In a stride to simplify financial planning, MTN offers a seamless way for users to save via their mobile phones. By dialing *182*5*3#, users can effortlessly transfer funds from their Momo wallets to EjoHeza accounts, ensuring convenience and consistency in savings.

Although the initiative commenced three months ago, it was officially unveiled in a grand ceremony, showcasing its simplicity. Participants can allocate preferred amounts, which are automatically transferred on their behalf, reinforcing disciplined savings habits.

Early adopters of the EjoHeza program were recognized during the event. Among them, RBA journalist Bright Turatsinze shared his inspiring journey of saving 1,000 Rwandan Francs daily, showcasing the accessibility and benefits of the program for ordinary citizens.

Speaking at the event, Regis Rugemanshuro, Director General of the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), applauded the vital role of women in embracing the EjoHeza program. Women not only lead in participation rates but are also remarkable contributors to the initiative. The program offers an attractive annual interest rate of 12%, making it a compelling option for future-focused individuals.

To inspire involvement, celebrated artists Bushali and Riderman engaged the audience with electric performances, urging them to join EjoHeza via MTN’s Momo platform. Their advocacy highlighted the simplicity and accessibility of the program, driving participation across Rwanda.
