MC Tino Opens Up About Money Mix-Up With Ayra Starr and The Ben – VIDEO

MC Tino recounts his unforgettable BK Arena show with The Ben, Ayra Starr's mix-up moment, and teases his upcoming album release.

In an exclusive interview with InyaRwanda, renowned Rwandan musician and media personality MC Tino revealed that his performance at BK Arena was one of the most memorable moments of his career. He described the excitement of performing on stage in front of a crowd of around 9,000 to 10,000 attendees, branding it as a career highlight.

MC Tino opened up about performing live for the first time with The Ben, delivering their collaborative hit song "Plenty." He noted that sharing the stage with The Ben motivated him to put in extraordinary effort. Adding a touch of humor to his story, MC Tino disclosed that Ayra Starr mistakenly thought he was The Ben backstage and handed him dollars as a token of gratitude.

He shared, “Ayra Starr handed me money directly because of the chaos backstage. I don't know where I left the dollars she gave me; it’s possible I lost them at BK Arena. But the funny moment with Ayra Starr was when I was performing with The Ben. In the artists' backstage rooms, they usually have televisions showing the live performances. When I left the stage, she greeted me thinking I was The Ben—and I greeted her back!”

Continuing this lighthearted anecdote, he added, “You know how stars leave the stage, moving quickly? But I left slowly, and we crossed paths. Can you imagine, she agreed to a collab thinking I was The Ben?”

Aside from this humorous encounter, MC Tino reflected on his musical journey alongside The Ben, stating that he has worked with him as a stage hype man on numerous occasions. He expressed enthusiasm about potentially collaborating on a new song following their BK Arena performance.
