Kiddo Talents Show Aims to Become Africa’s Model Talent Platform – Mbonyumugenzi Gentil

Discover how the 2025 Kiddo Talents Show at Kepler empowered young Rwandan talents, providing a platform for creativity and growth, despite challenges.

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Kepler campus came alive as it hosted the Kiddo Talents Show, an inspiring event designed to empower and showcase the unique talents of young children.

The event organizer, Mbonyumugenzi Gentil Theodomire—the director of Kiddo Hub—shared the core mission behind this initiative, explaining: “Kiddo Hub is a center dedicated to providing children with a platform to display their talents, where we not only support them but also connect them to diverse opportunities on a larger scale.”

Highlighting their ambitious goal, Mbonyumugenzi expressed the vision of creating a landmark platform across Africa: “Our ultimate vision is to be a leading example in Africa, offering all children the chance to showcase their abilities and demonstrate their potential while receiving comprehensive support.”

Mbonyumugenzi reflected on the past struggles faced by many children who lacked avenues to express their creativity and skills. He explained: “In the past, young people didn’t have access to spaces where they could exhibit their talents. This platform boosts their confidence and allows their abilities to be recognized by others.”

He further added: “Another major challenge was the absence of structured systems where children could display their talents in an organized manner. This inspired the foundation of Kiddo Hub. As educators deeply connected with children daily, we saw the urgent need for this space—both to benefit them and promote their spiritual growth.”

Discussing this inaugural Kiddo Talents Show, Mbonyumugenzi explained the careful selection process for participants. Talent already visible within existing networks was identified, while representatives from various regions were also included to ensure a diverse array of participants.

He expressed a desire for the initiative to reach beyond the bounds of Kiddo Hub and become a project embraced by the entire Rwandan community: “Our aspiration is for this initiative to belong not just to us but to all Rwandans. It should be a point of pride for the nation as we collectively support young talents and positively impact their lives on a broad scale.”

For its debut, the team relied solely on their internal resources, investing considerable effort to guarantee success. However, Mbonyumugenzi shared a hope for future partnerships to elevate the event's impact even further. He acknowledged persistent obstacles, notably skepticism from some parents regarding the importance of showcasing children's talents.
