The FIFA presidential election is scheduled to take place on March 18, 2027, during the FIFA Congress to be held in Rabat, Morocco.
Football associations from various countries around the world have already begun expressing their support for Gianni Infantino, who currently serves as FIFA President. FERWAFA has now joined this growing list of supporters.
FERWAFA President Shema Fabrice stated that under Infantino’s leadership, world football has experienced significant development, improved transparency, and greater inclusivity with no one left behind.
He added that FERWAFA believes continuing Infantino’s vision is important in addressing future challenges in global football, expressing confidence in further progress for the sport under his leadership.
This endorsement comes as many football associations across Africa have also expressed support for Infantino ahead of the elections.
Gianni Infantino, 56, has been FIFA President since 2016 and was last re-elected in 2023 during the 73rd FIFA Congress, which was held in Rwanda.
