It’s a bold move by Yampano to forego collaboration with bigger industry names, a choice that sets him apart in an era when many artists seek big-name partnerships to boost their EPs or albums. For Yampano, however, authenticity and alignment take precedence.
Yampano explained to InyaRwanda, “He was the one we matched. He aligned perfectly with the creative direction I envisioned as a new artist with extraordinary talent.”
Choosing Zeo Trap was no coincidence. Yampano strongly felt that their shared artistic vision and values made this collaboration organic and meaningful.
He emphasized, “Zeo Trap is a rising star with exceptional talent. We connected effortlessly, and in music, collaborating with someone who shares your vision is vital.”
Their shared passion and drive forged a partnership rooted in respect and dynamic creativity, enabling both to contribute unique traits to their collaborative projects.
The highly-anticipated EP Inkanda features four tracks, all masterfully produced by Producer Logic Hit. These include culturally rich yet contemporary tracks such as ‘Rahabu,’ ‘Imurenge,’ ‘Rasita,’ and ‘Umutima We.’
Yampano described the concept behind the name of the EP, explaining that Inkanda symbolizes a harmonious fusion of diverse musical styles tied together by Rwandan cultural identity and heartwarming messages on life and humanity.
He elaborated further, “Inkanda blends Kinyarwanda music vibrantly and seamlessly with global influences like Ikinimba, Afrobeat, and Amapiano.”
Interestingly, an additional collaboration with Zeo Trap featuring a unique and powerful message won’t appear on Inkanda, as it’s planned for an exclusive release accompanied by a music video.
Yampano revealed, “That particular track has a special message, so it’s reserved for separate release with its video.”
Creating the EP wasn’t a solo journey for Yampano. He worked closely with renowned songwriter Stone David, known for kickstarting the careers of new artists by fostering persistence and creativity.
He shared his experience: “Stone David is incredibly dedicated. Collaborating with him on multiple tracks reminded me that passion and commitment can propel you to greatness.”
Although the EP Inkanda production is complete, Yampano is yet to finalize its release date as preparations for its launch on music streaming platforms are ongoing.
Yampano underscored the depth of his musical creation, noting that every song on the EP delivers an impactful message, reflecting on life’s aspects such as love, resilience, and faith.
The Inkanda EP is more than just a music project—it’s a celebration of blending tradition with innovation, bringing together genres, storytelling, and artistry with relatable, real-life experiences.

“He was the one we matched,” said Yampano while explaining why Zeo Trap became the only featured artist on Inkanda.

Yampano officially announced his upcoming EP, Inkanda, promising a unique blend of tradition and modernity.

Speaking about their connection, Yampano and Zeo Trap collaborated on the track ‘Samalaya,’ which highlights their shared understanding and passion for music.

The Inkanda EP includes four tracks that bring out raw authenticity and deep lyrical messages.
