As announced on their 'Save the Date' card released Sunday, April 4, 2025, gospel star Vestine radiated joy as she prepares to marry Idrissa, the man who captured her heart. Sharing her excitement, Vestine wrote: "He’s not just my husband, he’s my home, my heart, and my sanctuary of peace."
Ishimwe Vestine officially tied the knot with her fiancé, Ouedraogo Idrissa, originally from Burkina Faso, during a civil ceremony held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in Kinyinya Sector, Gasabo District.
According to trusted reports from InyaRwanda, the engagement ceremony occurred earlier, on Monday, January 6, 2025. The intimate event was held under strict privacy rules, prohibiting photography and videography.
Together with her sister Dorcas, Vestine is known for creating moving gospel music. Their hits, including "Iriba," "Simpagarara," "Adonai," "Neema," "Ihema," "Umutaka," "Ibuye," "Nzakomora," "Nahawe Ijambo," "Ku Musaraba," "Si Bayali," and "Isaha," have become favorites for gospel enthusiasts.
The widely adored gospel group "Vestine & Dorcas" features Ishimwe Vestine and Kamikazi Dorcas, two sisters dedicated to worship through music from an early age. They hail from Musanze District in northern Rwanda.
Ishimwe Vestine, who proudly adopts her husband’s surname 'Ouedraogo,' was born on February 2, 2004, and recently completed her high school education. Her younger sister Kamikazi Dorcas was born on June 28, 2006. The siblings are daughters of Uzamukunda Elizabeth and Nizeyimana Mazimpaka.
From a family of six—a balance of four girls and two boys—Vestine and Dorcas began their musical journey independently in 2018. They later joined forces under the guidance of MIE Empire, led by journalist Murindahabi Irénée, in 2020, propelling their gospel music career to new heights.
One of their memorable milestones was Saturday, December 24, 2022, when they held their first major concert at Camp Kigali. Receiving remarkable support from gospel fans, its highlight was a sermon by Apostle Mignonne Kabera, who presented them with a generous gift of RWF 1 million.
During the concert, Vestine and Dorcas launched their debut album, which achieved record-breaking sales of RWF 15 million. The event welcomed high-profile attendees, including Coach Gael, Isimbi Alliah, DJ Phil Peter, Alex Muyoboke, Miss Muyango Claudine, actor Bamenya, Bishop Prof. Fidele Masengo, gospel artist Aline Gahongayire, among others.
According to sources, Idrissa is a wealthy young man deeply in love with Vestine, determined to spend his life with her. Post-wedding, the couple plans to live in Rwanda to embrace the next chapter of their beautiful journey.
