The new smartphone has been added to MTN Rwanda’s “Tunga Taci” program, allowing customers to obtain the phone from nearby MTN shops and pay for it gradually in installments.
The Itel A200 comes with several upgraded features, including 4.5G internet connectivity that enables users to browse websites and access different applications smoothly and at high speed.
In addition, the phone is equipped with IP65 protection, making it resistant to dust and water to a certain extent, a feature designed to suit everyday use and different lifestyles.
Trevor Ntabwoba, who is responsible for promoting Itel products, explained that the A200 arrives as an upgraded version of the A90 with major improvements.
He said: “The first improvement is the camera quality, as this phone takes much better photos. Secondly, we improved the battery life, and thirdly, we introduced new AI technology.”
The smartphone is currently retailing at 169,100 Rwandan Francs, making it an attractive option for customers looking for a modern smartphone at an affordable price.
To make the offer even more appealing, customers purchasing the phone will receive additional bonuses from MTN Rwanda, including 300 calling minutes, 300 SMS, and 15GB of internet valid for three months.
Edwin Vita, who oversees smartphone business operations at MTN Rwanda, said the partnership with Itel was established because both companies serve the same customer base, noting that smartphones like the A200 require reliable internet bundles.
He explained: “As MTN, we provide internet and communication services to customers. It is important for us to collaborate with Itel because we share the same customers, and our services must reach them effectively.”
The phones are now available through the “Tunga Taci” installment payment plan, where customers can choose to pay over three months, six months, or even one year.
During the installment period, MTN Rwanda will continue providing users with monthly bonuses of 3GB internet, 300 calling minutes, and 300 SMS until the payment is fully completed.
This partnership between Itel and MTN Rwanda comes at a time when Rwanda’s smartphone market continues to expand, with more customers seeking modern and capable devices at affordable prices.
