A general practitioner by training and a communicator by calling, Dr. Sumayire is redefining what it means to serve a community. While studying medicine and surgery at the University of Rwanda in 2017, he noticed something troubling — a glaring absence of constructive, educational content on social media platforms, particularly those that could inspire spiritual growth and deliver accurate health information to the public.
Rather
than wait for someone else to fill that void, he took action.
Harnessing
the reach and power of digital platforms, Sumayire launched Nkundagospel, a YouTube
channel whose name means “I Love Good
News.” What began as a small-scale effort to spread uplifting gospel
messages and inspirational life stories soon blossomed into a dynamic digital
space for faith-based encouragement. Today, the channel has over 360,000 subscribers,
a testament to its resonance in a country — and continent — where spirituality plays
a central role in daily life.
“Nkundagospel
was my first experiment in merging message and media,” Dr. Sumayire said in a
recent interview. “It helped me realize how much impact we can create when we
use technology to connect hearts and minds.”
But he didn’t stop there.

As
he deepened his experience in both healthcare and media production, Sumayire
saw a second gap: the lack of accessible, credible health information tailored
to the public. With the same drive that propelled Nkundagospel to success, he
launched a new initiative — Bhealthy Media, anchored by the website bhealthy.rw
and a new YouTube platform: Dr. Bob Rwanda – Bhealthy Media.
This new project sits at the intersection of science, compassion, and communication.
Through
videos, interviews, Q&A sessions, and expert contributions, Bhealthy aims
to demystify medical knowledge and empower individuals and families to take
control of their health. It’s a bold step toward a healthier, better-informed
society — one video at a time.
“This
platform is a gateway for the public to learn about medical topics in a simple,
engaging way,” Dr. Sumayire explained. “But it’s more than that — it’s also a
bridge to connect people with trusted doctors, to ask personal health
questions, and even to access medical tools and services directly.”
His
approach is holistic and people-centered. Beyond clinical expertise, Dr.
Sumayire brings a rare sense of purpose and empathy to his mission. As a
general practitioner, he’s devoted to offering accessible, high-quality care to
individuals and families. As a content creator, he’s building a culture of
curiosity, self-care, and preventive health.
Today,
Dr. Sumayire stands as a symbol of a new generation of African professionals — multidisciplinary,
community-driven, and unafraid to innovate beyond traditional boundaries.
Whether preaching hope or prescribing healing, his work is reshaping narratives,
one story and one diagnosis at a time.
In
a world where misinformation and healthcare gaps still loom large, voices like
Dr.
“The
goal is simple,” he says. “To heal, to inform, and to inspire — using every
tool available.”
