Celebrating 32 Years of Love: François Xavier Ngarambe & Yvonne's Marriage Journey

François Xavier Ngarambe, iconic Rwandan artist behind "Umwana ni Umutware," celebrates his 32nd wedding anniversary with heartfelt homage to his wife, Yvonne.

François Xavier Ngarambe, renowned author and musician best known for his iconic song "Umwana ni Umutware," expressed deep love and appreciation for his wife, Yvonne Ngarambe, as they marked 32 years of marriage on September 10, 2025. Their inspiring bond reflects dedication, faith, and family values.

In a heartfelt social media post, Ngarambe shared: "My beloved wife, whom I love and who loves me, on this date 10/9/2025, it's been 32 full years since we vowed to each other under the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. I wish you a wonderful anniversary."

Ngarambe added: "On that day, I became your husband, and you became my wife. Although we didn’t immediately live together, as we were waiting to wed before God—the Creator of marriage—we felt a profound responsibility. Our duty was to be an ornament to our nation, creating a family foundation that strengthens the country, ensuring that betrayal or failure would never lead to its downfall."

Continuing, he wrote: "May God continue to strengthen us and enable us to showcase the beauty of love, marriage, and family. Let our nation count us among its well-built households, ignited by the warmth of love glowing in our hearts. I love you now, until the end of time. Your loving husband who cherishes and loves you."

Ngarambe François Xavier and his wife, Yvonne Ngarambe, have become role models for Rwandan families. Often described as living in their "little heaven," they consistently share testimonials about the beauty and challenges of family life. For them, family represents a precious gift from God, the foundation of love, a school of life, and a reflection of divine grace.

Yvonne emphasized that family, established by God who created man and woman, signifies love and growth. François Xavier complemented this idea, saying, "Family is a symbol of love, unity, and a school for both. The absence of these elements can cause great harm."

In 2023, during a special "Kigali Family Night" event, the couple shared candid insights into resolving marital disputes. They acknowledged that disagreements are inevitable, remarking, "No relationship is without its challenges." They stated that acts of forgiveness have strengthened their relationship profoundly, highlighting that even disagreements, at times, deepen love. They coined the phrase: "Sometimes, there’s beauty in a quarrel."

Yvonne shared, “A good family is possible, but a flawless family is not. Do not let anyone deceive you. We cannot be perfect—only God is perfect. As humans, we are constantly striving but inevitably falling short."

François Xavier revealed that they often revisit their vows, which were made voluntarily and with heartfelt commitment. The couple's signature song, "Nta Gahato" ("No Coercion"), reflects this sentiment with lyrics declaring: "No coercion, I loved you freely. No coercion, I found you freely. No coercion, we united freely. It’s my choice, and it will remain my choice until death."
