Reports indicate that the 73-year-old businessman visited Rwanda between April 7 and 11, during the national mourning period marking the 32nd commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
During his stay, Jim Ratcliffe toured several key locations, including Akagera National Park and Volcanoes National Parkin the Musanze District, home to the famous mountain gorillas.
Ratcliffe is widely known as the founder of INEOS, a major European multinational specializing in chemicals and plastics. With an estimated net worth of $18.4 billion, he ranks as the wealthiest individual in the United Kingdom and is placed among the top global billionaires.
In late 2023, he acquired a 27.7% stake in Manchester United, taking on responsibility for football operations, including player transfers, managerial appointments, and overall sporting decisions at the club.
